Dr. Luo Mai leads the Large-Scale AI Systems Group in the School of Informatics. He authored a highly-downloaded machine learning systems textbook (>500K downloads) and developed popular open-source ML systems (>15K GitHub Stars). He has received research awards from Microsoft, Google, Alibaba, and Tencent, and is a nominee for the Chancellor’s Rising Star Award at the University of Edinburgh. Dr. Luo Mai earned his PhD from Imperial College London in 2018 and has been the Principal Investigator (PI) on 5 projects, securing over £1.8M in funding.
